Greening Your Home

Mount Mary College will present “Greening Your Home,” a sustainability-focused educational program and vendor fair for homeowners, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The event will provide a range of ideas for homeowners on how to make their homes healthier and more eco-friendly.

The event is free and open to the public. Ample free parking is also available.

 Erick Shambarger, Deputy Director of the City of Milwaukee’s Office of Environmental Sustainability, will discuss two of the city’s programs for homeowners including Milwaukee Shines (solar energy) and ME2 (energy efficiency) programs

 Leona Knobloch-Nelson, Mount Mary College Interior Design department chair and partner and interior designer with Knobloch Nelson Architects LLC, will offer ideas for creating a sustainable, healthy environment within your home.

 Andrew Pace, owner and founder of The Green Design Center and a nationally recognized specialist on green and healthy building products, will introduce sustainable products including paint, lighting, flooring and fire crystals (used as an alternative to log burning), that can be incorporated into remodeling projects.
