Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Informational Program

In conjunction with Veteran’s Day, Hart Park Square Senior Community, 6600 W. River Parkway, will be holding an informational program open to the public about the Wisconsin Stars and Stripes Honor Flight Network.  The organization was created as a way to thank our WWII veterans by honoring them with free flights to Washington D.C.  The highlight of every trip is a visit to the World War II Memorial where veterans are able to soak in the symbolism and take in its beauty.

Joe Dean founded the Wisconsin organization with a group of volunteers after seeing a segment on television about the National Honor Flight Network.  To date the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight has flown over 1,000 veterans via the successful launch of “Operation Resolve” whereby 747s are chartered with up to 300 veterans on board.  Flights are funded by donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other groups who wish to be an important part of honoring these heroes and recognize the need to get our veterans to see their memorial before it is too late.

The presentation will be held on Tuesday, November 15th at 2:00 p.m.  If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to 414-476-8787.

Hart Park Square is a Laureate Group senior community that offers independent and assisted living apartments.  For more information, visit www.laureategroup.com
