One School Board Seat Challenged; Dubinski Uncontested for Council

School Board incumbent Phil Kroner will face challenger Carmela Rios in spring election; Anne Fee and Michael Meier have filed to retain there seats uncontested.

One of three open Wauwatosa School Board seats will be contested this spring, with newcomer Carmela Rios challenging incumbent Phil Kroner.

Incumbents Anne Fee and Michael Meier will run uncontested to retain their seats on the board.

One seat is open on the Wauwatosa Common Council in an off-cycle year, and Ald. John Dubinski – appointed last year to fill the seat of Eric Meaux, who resigned to move to Arizona for a new job – has filed for election to complete a full term.

Connie Galante, assistant to the superintendent of schools, said Thursday that a drawing will be held between Kroner and challenger Rios to see whose name will appear first on the ballot for School Board seat No. 1.

That drawing must take place no later than Wednesday, Galante said.

Rios is a graduate student and teaching assistant in biology at Marquette University.
