Tosa East Boys Cross Country Team Qualifies for State

Tosa East's girls team, and both Tosa West teams also competed in sectionals Saturday.

Tosa East's long sought-after state berth in boys cross country has finally become reality.

The Red Raiders were a solid second at Saturday's WIAA Division 1 sectional in Saukville behind top-ranked Arrowhead, and will run next Saturday in the state meet in Wisconsin Rapids.

Dan Gagne finished sixth overall to lead Tosa East. Other finishers were R.J. Salmon (13th), Steffen Uhrich (17th), Jonah Meidl (18th), Jack Lockhart (25th), Tom Acompanado (46th) and Cavy Brennan (65th).

West's boys took ninth as a team but two individual runners will move on: Patrick Campbell, who took third, and Taylor Floyd-Mews with 11th.

On the girls side, East took fifth and West was 10th.

Finishers for East were Jordy Schmidt (21st), Katie Salmon (26th), Gabi Caron-Schule (27th),Β  Nicole Kashian (35th), Samantha Osinski (39th), Margaret Deflieze (43rd) and Emma Watson (46th).

West's competitors were Maggie Boyle (32nd), Katelyn Hronek (37th), Hannah Wishart (42nd), Casey Grabow (44th) Rachel Longo (67th) and Hannah Doyle (71st).
