Recreation Department Offering Range of Adult Classes Tonight

For $10, classes range from finding happiness to organizing your finances.

Do you fear the day your computer crashes, but feel overwhelmed by the idea of backing everything up?

There's a class for that.

Ever walk through Wauwatosa and wonder about the people who came before you, and as the 150th anniversary of the Civil War approaches, about those who sacrificed their lives?

Adult Wauwatosa residents will be able to participate in two such mini-courses from a list of 21 options at Monday evening, as part of the 's Learning Never Ends: An Evening for Adults.

Some of the classes are practical how-to lessons on topics like weight loss, landscape management and food preservation.

Others are introductions to hobbies like making holiday decorations, practicing QiGong exercise routines, and tasting wine.

Each class relies on the expertise of professionals from Wauwatosa and the greater Milwaukee area, showcasing a range of regional talent.

Experts from the in Shorewood will break down differences between types of tea — which they say is the second-most consumed beverage worldwide behind only water.

The president of the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition, Janan Najeeb, will lead a discussion about the lives and traditions of Muslim women.

The full list of classes and registration form are here. Check-in begins at 6:15 p.m at Wauwatosa West High School. The first session is at 6:45 p.m. and the second session at 8:15 p.m. The $10 fee covers both 75-minute sessions.
