Driver’s Goodwill Book Signing Catches Big Crowds

Donald Driver is known not only for his impressive catches with the Green Bay Packers but also for his dedication to community service.

He is also an author. So, in the midst of the glory of an undefeated season, Driver took time Tuesday to sign children's books at the Tosa store.

More than 700 people filed in to grab a copy of Driver’s, “Quickie Goes to the Big Game,” a book reflecting his run to the Super Bowl last year.

Many people left with more than one copy of the football player’s third children’s book. Proceeds benefit Goodwill Industries and the Donald Driver Foundation.

Pat Boelter, vice president of marketing for Goodwill, said Driver has served the mission behind Goodwill for more than nine years, and his support has brought light to giving people chances.

“Driver really personifies what it means to be given a chance,” Boelter said. “His story resonates with the people we serve.”

Boelter said when she heard about Driver’s upbringing and story she knew it would be a perfect representation for what Goodwill strives for.

Goodwill’s mission is to provide training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence, according to a press release.

Driver also appeared in Waukesha, kicker Mason Crosby visited a school in Oak Creek, and fullback John Kuhn helped out the Hunger Task Force in Brookfield.
