Tosa West Home to Player, Assistant Coach of Year

Wauwatosa West standout Austin Jones led the Trojans to what is believed to be its best finish in school history, setting other records along the way.

What makes Austin Jones’ record-setting senior year with the Trojans even more impressive is he accomplished the feats while his father continued a battle with brain cancer, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Though Wauwatosa West fell short of reaching state in the WIAA Summer Baseball Tournament this year, Jones led the Trojans to what is believed to be its best record in school history — 23-6.

Over 80 innings, Jones racked up 131 strikeouts, a 0.70 earned run average and nine wins. He also finished with a a .451 batting average and 28 runs batted, the newspaper says.
