Arté Studio Offers Summer Art Camp for Kids

Arté, Wauwatosa's wine and painting studio, will add two weeks of special art classes for kids this summer – without the wine, of course.

Artists ages 6 to 13 can discover their potential at Arté’s first “Kids ‘N Arts” Summer Art Camp from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Aug. 14 through 23 at the studio at 7511 Harwood Ave..

• Week one: Aug. 14, 15 and 16 – kids will complete colorful nature paintings.
• Week two: Aug. 21, 22 and 23 – will be filled with musical fun artwork.

Daily activities will inspire creativity while introducing fundamental art skills to young artists. Brand-new paintings will be created each day and paired with an activity that will demonstrate the new knowledge.

Snacks will be provided daily along with a special treat from at the end of the session.

“We are excited to offer something different and exciting this summer for kids,” said Lisa Allen, co-owner of Arté. “Parents are encouraged to drop off their kids for a fun time and also have a few hours to themselves each camp day.”

Kids can attend all six days of the summer camps or choose individual days. Days can be shared with siblings/friends. Each camp day, kids learn a new technique and leave with a fun painting. The $35 for one session or $90 for three days.

Just For Girls Day Camp and Pizza Party

In addition, Arté is hosting a one-day summer camp and pizza party just for girls to create mini monograms from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17.

Each girl personalizes three 8-inch-by-8-inch canvases using their favorite colors and designs. Stencils are provided for lettering, and each canvas will come complete with ribbon hangers.

Pizza and juice will be provided for all painters to keep their energy and creativity fueled. The cost is $40.
