Tosa Skateboarders Ready to Roll at Summer Events

July 4th Parade, Tosa Tonight and Chili'n on the Avenue will all host the skate and bike group with demos to support skate park.

Tosa Skateboarders United has scheduled a busy mid-summer of kid-friendly events over the next few weeks, hoping to put its cause on your calendar and the community's radar screen.

The group, which supports BMX biking and inline skating as well as skateboarding, has been working to raise funds for a stake park facility in .

Their mission: to provide a safe, legal place for kids to skate and bike in Tosa.

The skate park was adopted into the city's master plan for the park. Tosa Skateboarders United's motto ever since has been, “Let’s get that park built!”

You can meet them, watch them display their mad skills, and maybe write a check at any or all of the following upcoming events:

: Tosa Skateboarders United will once again be Ridin’ the Avenue on the Fourth of July.

Casual skateboarders, BMX bikers and inline skaters are all welcome to join TSU parade riders as they cruise the avenue, entertaining the crowd with tricks as they go. All ages are welcome, and all are encouraged to dress patriotically – and safely, with helmets and pads.

The parade begins at 9 a.m. at North 104th Street and West North Avenue and will proceed east along North Avenue to North 80th Street.

Tosa Tonight: Tosa Skateboarders United will be serving the concessions at the July 11 Tosa Tonight Concert starting at 6 p.m.

The group will benefit from the proceeds of the concessions and also entertain the crowd during band set break with demonstrations featuring local skaters in front of the Rotary Pavilion Stage.

Music will be provide by The Differentials and the 5 Card Studs

Chili’n on the Avenue: At East Tosa's annual street fair and chili cookoff on July 21, Tosa Skateboarders United will host a Ramp Jam, open to all skaters, BMX and inline skaters from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Waivers will be available on the group's website or on-site the day of the event.
