Firefly Art Fair Celebrates Its Silver Anniversary

There will be plenty to see – and eat and drink – at the Kneeland-Walker House this weekend.

It's the season for art shows to move outdoors, and one of the brightest spots of summer in Tosa is upon us.

The annual Firefly Art Fair celebrates its 25th anniversary this weekend at the Kneeland-Walker House in Wauwatosa. More than 90 juried artists from around the country will be exhibiting works from jewelry and ceramics to textiles, watercolors and photography in the Victorian gardens on the house’s grounds.

“This year we will have some special features because it’s our 25th year,” said Janel Ruzicka, executive director of the . “Since its inception in 1987, the art fair has raised about $500,000 for educational programs and preservation efforts of the historical society.”

The weather is forecast to be perfect to enjoy live music by Moxie Chicks, Music from the Hart and Jared Ramick. Visitors can take an opportunity to sit, relax and enjoy the experience and a meal.

Food and beverage vendors – , and , to name a few – will be cooking up summer fare.

“We’ve added ribs to the menu this year, which were featured at the first art fair 25 years ago,” Ruzicka said. “And there’s homemade pie made by the members of the Historical Society.”

On Sunday, is treating visitors to a piece of birthday cake to mark the fair’s quarter-century milestone.
