Tosa's Night Out Tops the Week Ahead

Take on the night! Tosa's Night Out is a celebration of community safety and pride, Tuesday in Hart Park.

The highlight of this week ahead is Tosa's Night Out, a celebration of community safety coming Tuesday evening.

Tosa's Night Out is organized by your Wauwatosa Police Department and Wauwatosa’s Neighborhood Watch Committee, and is an outgrowth of the National Night Out movement.

Froedtert Hospital and the Medical College of Wisconsin are the major sponsors, and all activities will begin at Hart Park, 7300 Chestnut Street.

This is the 19th annual “Night Out” celebration. It will include a children's area with games, inflatable rides, a coloring contest, Kid Care ID and much more. Other scheduled highlights include live music, food and refreshments, safety displays, and health and wellness exhibits.

The ever-popular 1.5 mile "Family Flashlight Walk" will wind along Honey Creek Parkway to the lower Harwood area and Wauwatosa Village.

The evening is scheduled to conclude with an exciting Bartolotta's fireworks display, weather permitting.

The event is free, and everyone is welcome. You may, however, elect to officially register for the walk to receive your commemorative T-shirt, flashlight and additional sponsored items.  

You may register, or obtain registration forms, at the Little Red Book Store, 7603 W. State Street (774-2665) during regular store hours. The nominal registration fee is $8 for the first person, $6 for the second, $4 for the third, and $2 for the fourth person; the fifth family member is free.
