Longfellow Middle School, built during the expansion of Wauwatosa in the 1950s, is right across the street from the Tosa Civic Center, so many of its students get an extra dose of civics as they migrate to the Wauwatosa Public Library to study or wait for rides. Longfellow has a swimming pool, two gymnasiums, a large and a small auditorium and athletic fields. ACAL – the Activity Center at Longfellow – is a popoluar monthly event during which the school is opened up in the evening for fun and recreation.
