For being a "family centered" community, this library is horrible. There is absolutely nothing in the children's library aside from a few board books for children to look at while their parents pick out books.
It is most definitely worth the drive to spend time at other libraries with your child such as Shorewood, Brookfield, Butler, Whitefish Bay, Franklin where they have pillows, comfy chairs, puzzles, puppets, story boards and toys. The staff at these libraries are much more accepting of children being there and you won't get an eye roll when you walk in carrying a small child, like I experience at Wauwatosa Public Library.
I am embarrassed to call Wauwatosa Public Library our community library and will continue using other libraries as much of a travel inconvenience it is.
