Sounds like a lot of criminals using guns, now how about a list of the hundreds of times that policeRead More and law abiding citizens have used guns to stop these criminals and save lives, oh yeah that wouldn't fit your agenda.
Pudge December 16, 2013 at 09:24 am
Paul, I agree. What is the point of this article - to demonize gun ownership or to understand whatRead More happened in each of these cases. How about a follow-up story taking each one of the 100 stories seen above, apply all of the applicable federal, state and local gun control laws currently on the books to each case, then reporting on just how many active gun laws were violated during the commission of the illegal act? Then describe, in detail, how any newly proposed gun law would have prevented any of the violence from occurring. While doing this investigative reporting, the writer could also determine how many of these crimes were committed by known criminals with a prior history of using guns in the commission of a crime and why they were still on the streets. How many were given light sentences by liberal judges, how many were out of probation, etc.,? Such a story however, would be contrary to the Patch's anti second amendment agenda, so we are unlikely to see it any time soon.

Absolutely, police must obtain a warrant before searching ANYTHING. Unfortunately, the 3rd Reich isRead More alive and well and breathing here in what used to be America. Now, it's 1938 Germany on steroids. Wait and see if you don't believe me, when the new gestapo asks you 'Haben Sie ein Ausweiss?'

Obviously, in the post-Jim Price era, Wauwatosa Patch is done doing any real crime reporting. JimRead More did Tosa residents a real service by carefully defining the problem. The City Council took a dim view of that. Crime? What crime? We ain't got no crime! We got bike lanes to the ghetto! And we're busy planning how to shut down the other half of Tosa in projects that will destroy what little is left of traffic flow and then stand idle for weeks! And then, we're going to grant more permits to absurdly oversized businesses that will destroy the parking for a dozen established business! It's what we do! Wheeeee!

Why are they Sending his blood to the state lab? Is it because they want to really throw the book atRead More him this time so it will make it more official?
KAY KRISTIN September 8, 2013 at 06:06 am
Garrence, I have sat in in many DUI trials, and in most of them, one of the witnesses has been aRead More representative from the state crime lab, so I am guessing that this is routine.
KAY KRISTIN September 8, 2013 at 06:09 am
@Dirk - We have a problem here in Wisconsin. While I am not suggesting the ridiculous penalty ofRead More life in prison or death, I will remind you that the state of Wisconsin not only has the most "relaxed" penalties when it comes to drunk driving convictions, we also have the highest per capita occurrences of repeat offender drunk drivers. There is a problem here. And as long as we keep dealing out a slap on the wrist and a fine (which normally goes unpaid anyway) and higher insurance rates (which usually results in an uninsured driver), we are going to keep having this problem.

Yeah, this guy is a real piece of work.
paul hruz August 27, 2013 at 09:13 am
How come he isn't being charged with more, like attempted murder. I hear all this talk about gettingRead More tough with these thugs but again it's nothing but talk.
paul hruz August 28, 2013 at 08:27 am
Come on....When you pull out a gun after threatening people I would call that attempted homicide,Read More and he would have killed someone if he wasn't stopped.
greensheet August 24, 2013 at 07:31 am
I may be speculating a bit, but I bet I know what kind of check he was waiting for.
jbw August 24, 2013 at 07:57 pm
SS check for disabling mental illness, apparently. Put the story about the weather being hot inRead More Summer back up as the top story, it's more valuable. I'm going to go recommend it.

Not long enough. What ever happened to the armed youths that held up the Speedway a while back?
jbw August 13, 2013 at 06:09 pm
Wait, is that the second or third daylight armed robbery of that Subway in recent years? CriminalsRead More certainly feel safe in that neighborhood, judging by the stories on Patch.
jennifer August 15, 2013 at 03:22 pm
Well this is really helpful in catching these guys, release their descriptions and what they wereRead More wearing a week ago...?? Not the same day or even the day after it happened so the public might be able to help identify them.
K9 August 11, 2013 at 11:53 am
Seriously, when will people learn that they can NEVER leave any valuables in their car, let alone,Read More leave it unlocked. That is just dumb and an invitation for thieves. Where you live, urban, suburban or rural, doesn't matter anymore.
James Drew August 12, 2013 at 08:38 am
Someone really needs to talk to the guy who left 75 cents in his car.
Kathleen Nichols August 12, 2013 at 03:39 pm
hopefully the gas station has a security camera and they can find the time the card was used andRead More perhaps identify the thief with that - ?
