Parents ruin sports..
sportsnut July 14, 2014 at 06:39 am
Alan I agree. Parents coach to get their kids and kids friends a leg up. Kids are choosen too basedRead More on parents and kids being friends. Take AAU and All-Stars and positions in each sport. Parents coach because they want their kid in prime positions, kids are friends with certain kids or because a family does not like someone but the kid has talent not playing. You need "out of area" coaches to come and determine if a kid is "that good" to be at the next level not "locals" whom coach because that is the only way the kid will get playing time.
CowDung July 23, 2014 at 09:20 am
sportsnut: Seems like a perfect opportunity for you to get involved in coaching... If nothingRead More else, becoming a coach will give you a voice in the league to lobby for equal playing time for all kids, and rotation of positions--particularly at the lower levels.

I'm not huge into baseball but the Cards are much more of a rival than the Cubs. Everything in ILRead More stinks and is a joke, the Cubbies haven't been rivals for years.
Mr Lundt May 4, 2014 at 06:28 pm
As always in baseball---it is about pitching after the All-star break. The Brewers have a longRead More history of having arms fail. This year is already showing signs of issues...and its early.

The shrine game has always been a good one for taking the kids to though.

I will gladly take, pay for, these Thursday tickets off your hands.

I'll keep that in mind, seriously. I know my wife and I won't be going and my brother, who getsRead More first dibs when I don't, lives in Chicago and is unlikely to take them. I'll let you know what happens.

Which is it - Wauwatosa or Waukesha West? How low does Tosa Patch have to go before we can get aRead More new editor! There is never any news in Patch worth reading.
Patrick O'Neill October 1, 2013 at 09:51 am
Wow, how hard is it to get the school right? These kids did a great thing and you can't even checkRead More the details to see what school they go to? Wauwatosa is only one of the largest cities in the state.
Sarah Millard October 1, 2013 at 11:36 am
Sorry guys. I am the Waukesha editor and am only helping out with Wauwatosa until we are all laidRead More off in two weeks. I am used to typing Waukesha and made a mistake. Unfortunately, we aren't hiring any editors for Tosa Patch, and we won't be hiring anyone for the rest of the Wisconsin sites when the rest of us are also let go.

Give it up for Tosa Raiders 8th Grade Team, who beat Brookfield East 22-6 Saturday 9-21 at HartRead More Park! These guys are the future of Tosa East football, and the program will be awesome unless the lousy coach at Tosa East picks them apart and separates the Freshmen from the their teammates and moves them to JV like has been happening for the last few years. If these kids are kept together for JV, and then for Varsity, Tosa East will dominate in our conference, led by Coach Lang and the class of 2018. Every kid on the team should be mentioned as having a key impact on Saturday! The pre-game team breakdown by captains Andy Seleme (54) , Dominic Pitzen (55), Scott Henry (24) and Tim Gehling (71) showed that these guys came to play and they came to play as a team! They are now 2-1 behind the excellent coaching of Land and staff. AND, give it up for Tosa East High Schoolers who were there in large numbers to support the 8th graders! They lined up to congratulate the kids after the game and it was a powerful display of how AWESOME the kids of Tosa are! Way to go 8th Grade Raiders!!!

MLB holds all of the cards. To date I have not heard what it is that Braun supposedly took. 2Read More months ago there were leaks that Braun was going to get a 100 game suspension. This is not a court of law. Braun really pissed off Selig et al when he won the appeal. I believe that MLB wants to clean up their sport, on the other hand I aslo believe that there is some sort of vendetta at large too. I could easily be an ostrich with my head in the sand, but I think the possibility exists that he was told to take the judgement or get booted for life. I'm just saying. As i said earlier MLB holds all of the cards. BTW are they going to take away the All-Time Home Run record from Bonds. If they were consistant they have to. Again, just saying.
DICK STEINBERG July 23, 2013 at 06:10 pm
MLB owes it to the fans to explain the entire situation Braun was involved with. how will RyanRead More bounce back? Babe Ruth, Paul Hornung and Pete Rose did for different reasons. if u did not know Babe Ruth was out an entire season with the "flu". c,mon Bud tell us the facts.

You're lost. Thank God Anne and the other Tosa runners are fine. That's the point of thisRead More neighborhood article; a sense of community and caring about one another. Anne is one of the kindest people I've ever met and the world would be a better place with more people like her.
