Brewers all-star purchased four Pamela Anderson paintings last year to decorate his California digs, and stopped by to say hello Saturday while she worked at the Pfister.
A Wauwatosa artist whose work has been gaining attention for a couple of years now has one really big-league admirer – Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun. Last year, Braun bought four large-format paintings from Anderson to decorate his California home. On Saturday, he and girlfriend Larisa Fraser stopped in at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee to pay a visit to his favorite painter as she worked with artist in residence Timothy Westbrook in the hotel's art studio. Braun and Fraser even cast their votes for Anderson to be the next full-time artist in residence at the Pfister. Anderson's bold style of abstract painting features riots of color on large canvases. She also paints at the Plaid Tuba art studio in Milwaukee's Third Ward. Anderson …

By Mary Phillips for EFW Thanks to a grant from the Education Foundation of Wauwatosa (EFW), Wauwatosa West High School is home to Gallery 114, a gallery featuring artwork and writing submitted by Wauwatosa West students. While art teacher Jessica Belich is the force behind the creation of the gallery, she says it is now run by the students. Senior Isaac Micheal is the gallery director and junior Maureen Vento is the gallery assistant. In addition to creating a space to showcase the talents of Wauwatosa West students, Gallery 114 was developed as a way to give real world work experience in managing the activities of an art gallery. The December exhibit in Gallery 114 is "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder." This latest exhibit features …

Kids can test their creativity on a variety of projects before regular school starts with August classes in “Kids ‘N Arts” Summer Art Camp.
Arté, Wauwatosa's wine and painting studio, will add two weeks of special art classes for kids this summer – without the wine, of course. Artists ages 6 to 13 can discover their potential at Arté’s first “Kids ‘N Arts” Summer Art Camp from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Aug. 14 through 23 at the studio at 7511 Harwood Ave.. Daily activities will inspire creativity while introducing fundamental art skills to young artists. Brand-new paintings will be created each day and paired with an activity that will demonstrate the new knowledge. Snacks will be provided daily along with a special treat from Yo Mama at the end of the session. “We are excited to offer something different and exciting this summer for kids,” said…

Arté wine and painting studio is open for business this week.
Business partners Lisa Allen and Karen Salituro are bringing a new “paint and sip” art movement to Wauwatosa. Their studio, Arté, will offer full-fledged painting classes starting Wednesday, with the help of wine and spirits. Both Allen and Salituro heard of the “paint and sip” concept from friends in the South.
