Woman Faces Gun Charge After Drunk Driving Stop

Woman had a valid permit for loaded .22 concealed under her car seat – but the law says that's not cool if you've been drinking liquor and smoking pot.

  A 28-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing a weapon charge after she was caught driving impaired through Wauwatosa with a loaded handgun in her SUV. She had a permit for the gun, but Wisconsin law does not allow anyone to carry a firearm while intoxicated. Quannetta J. Jackson was charged Saturday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon. If convicted, she faces up to nine months in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: At 12:22 a.m. Sept. 2, a Wauwatosa police officer was on patrol in the 10700 block of West North Avenue when he spotted Jackson driving a Mercedes Benz SUV without her headlights on.
