Three drivers from Wauwatosa were among a slew of people arrested over the past week on suspicion of operating while intoxicated on Tosa's streets. At 2 a.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old Wauwatosa woman was arrested on suspicion of her first offense after several witnesses called to report her as possibly intoxicated and driving dangerously. An officer was dispatched to the area of Blue Mound and Mayfair roads, and on the way was advised the woman had just pulled into a driveway in the 10600 block of West Michigan Street. Callers were waiting at the corner, keeping an eye on her. One witness told the officer the woman had nearly hit her on the freeway. A man on parole for burglary was arrested Wednesday for driving under the influence of drugs in Wauwatosa. It's a hard charge to make stick, but he could be going back to prison anyway because he was already on parole for a felony – and was hit with a paraphernalia possession count, which would otherwise be nothing more than a municipal ticket. At 9:13 p.m. Wednesday, a 37-year-old Jackson man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on drugs, first offense, as well as possession of paraphernalia, after he was seen passed out at the wheel of his running pickup truck at West Burleigh Street and North Mayfair Road. Ray Ray, I agree with you. There is nothing wrong with responsible adult use. It might even help to keep it out of the hands of kids. I know alcohol was more difficult to obtain than marijuana while in high school. Marijuana prohibition is costing our economy many missed opportunities.   more ›
