Walker maintains he had nothing to do with the ongoing investigation, and says he would have done the right thing if he had knowledge of any misconduct.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday confidently stated that he has no worries when it comes to the ongoing John Doe investigation. Walker maintained he has done nothing wrong, and has no knowledge of illegal campaign activities that may have occurred on the taxpayers' dime during his tenure as Milwaukee County executive. Walker distanced himself from the investigation while visiting Tailored Label Products in Menomonee Falls. “We’ve been told repeatedly, if there were bigger concerns, they would be coming to us,” Walker said. “Remember, we were the ones asking for this two years ago, and brought it to their attention.” Walker is of course referring to blowing the whistle on his former aide, Timothy Russell. Russell is accused of …

Governor's son, Alex, a Wauwatosa East high school student, was elected Monday as the mayor of a city at Badger Boys State
It turns out that two Walkers from Wauwatosa were elected to state leadership positions this past week — only one of them is Gov. Scott Walker’s son, Alex. And he was elected mayor of a Badger Boys State city named after a former Wisconsin governor known, in part, for educational reform. Alex Walker, an incoming senior at Wauwatosa East High School, was elected “mayor” of a Badger Boys State city on Monday, according to an announcement from the Badger Boys State PR office. Wauwatosa East also has a second student, Sam Schultz, at Badger Boys State, said Nick Hughes, Wauwatosa East principal. Wauwatosa West also sent a boy to Badger Boys State this year: Sam Hanrahan, said Nick Becker, school counselor at Wauwatosa West High School, “Most …

Write-in votes in the gubernatorial recall include "Anybody Else" and movie character Ned Schneebly.
Can you imagine movie character Ned Schneebly for Wisconsin governor? How about television satirist Stephen Colbert for lieutenant governor? Some Wauwatosa voters thought they would be preferable to the choices. Schneebly is the passive, by-the-books friend in Jack Black’s movie, School of Rock. Colbert, of course, is the television host and satirist. In 2008, he jokingly announced he was running for president on both tickets, so why not for Wisconsin governor? Patch reviewed the write-in votes cast in Wauwatosa for the June 5 gubernatorial recall election. Carla Ledesma, city clerk, at the request of Patch, provided 17 write-in candidates for governor and 32 for lieutenant governor. Official returns listed a few additional write-ins. Some…

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and former Brown County Executive Nancy Nusbaum say they’re “appalled” with Gov. Scott Walker’s agenda opposing women’s rights, especially regarding women’s health.
In the wake of a new law signed by Gov. Scott Walker, Planned Parenthood announced Friday it will be suspending medically induced abortions, and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and former Brown County Executive Nancy Nusbaum didn’t take the news lying down. The two held a joint conference to voice their disapproval of what they called Walker’s “war on women,” saying this is exactly what happens when people choose ideology over jobs. “Fighting for women has been a critical part of both my career life, and my life in general,” Nusbaum said. “That’s why I’m going along with women across Wisconsin who are appalled with Scott Walker and his right-wing agenda.” The new law requires women seeking medically induced abortions to meet with their doctor …

Steve ® - Six out of six charged is an excellent conviction rate! “After a review of the John Doe evidence, I am satisfied that [all charges that are supported by proof (beyond a reasonable doubt) have now been brought and concluded,"] Chisholm said in a statement. "As a consequence, last week my office petitioned for, and Judge Nettesheim has granted, the closure of the John Doe investigation…   more ›
