Weapon may well have just been forgotten by a citizen, carrying for self-defense, who had to unholster while going about his business.
A loaded, holstered revolver found in a bathroom stall at Mayfair Mall showed no immediate evidence of being a crime or contraband weapon, and may well have been inadvertently left behind by a forgetful mall visitor. According to police reports: At 12:40 p.m. Thursday, police were called to Mayfair after a loaded revolver was found in a men’s restroom on the first floor just off center court. A custodian reported to his supervisor at 12:32 that he had just found the holstered weapon wedged between the wall and a handrail above and behind the toilet. He said he had last checked the bathroom 90 minutes before, at 11:02 a.m., and he was sure the gun had not been there. The restroom was quickly blocked off, and police entered and examined the …

Man admits leaving his girlfriend alone in parking lot, unconscious after injecting narcotic, while he goes inside to flush evidence down the toilet.
A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Thursday as a fugitive on a felony warrant after his girlfriend, a 27-year-old Elm Grove woman, overdosed on heroin in her car in the parking lot of Mayfair Mall, according to Wauwatosa police reports. Officers and paramedics were called at 8:52 p.m. on a report of an unresponsive woman at the wheel of a car, and they found the woman alone and semi-conscious, pale and “very sweaty.” She could not roll down her window or unlock her door for some time. When she finally did, she was incoherent. Police noted a man’s belt on the passenger seat and several small napkins stained with blood that had been tossed out of the car. While paramedics assisted her in an ambulance, her boyfriend walked up and asked …

Tosa police wanted a more serious charge, but district attorney settles for a Class A misdemeanor.
A Brookfield woman could have been charged with a felony for shoplifting a load of jewelry at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, but instead she faces a serious misdemeanor count of theft, according to police reports and court documents. Jane Elizabeth Montgomery, 28, was charged Thursday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with "intentionally taking" less than $500 worth of property, punishable by up to nine months in jail. But according to police reports, Montgomery actually attempted to steal about twice that amount, in retail value, and the department requested a felony count that could have been punished with up to three years and six months in prison. At 9:20 p.m., last Monday, Montgomery was arrested on suspicion of theft from Boston Store at…

Mall security and Wauwatosa police round up four suspects over three days who were seen in the act of committing thefts or trespassing.
You never know about the ones who get away without anyone's knowledge, but in all of four incidents at Mayfair Mall covered by recent police reports, suspects who were seen by security were also caught and arrested. According to police reports: At 3:27 p.m. Sunday, a 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft from Solstice Sunglass Boutique at Mayfair after she was seen on video hiding a $295 pair of sunglasses in her infant’s stroller. She also had a toddler with her, who was seen to grab a pair of sunglasses and run out of the store. His mother chased him down and returned the glasses, but she did not return or pay for the ones she had hidden. She was located in the food court and taken, with her children, to the mall booking …

If convicted, she faces up to 21 months in prison and $21,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Dec. 10, Jamgan was in Boston Store with a shopping cart with $559 worth of merchandise in it, and she began to push it out the door without paying for the items. Repeat drug felon accompanies friend on mall shoplifting excursion – while holding illicit Oxycodone stash and a sales ledger.
The criminal mind is often devious – but sometimes... eh, not so much. A man with multiple felony convictions, and out on bail for a pending felony drug charge, made the mistake of hanging too close to a companion who stole a pair of sunglasses at Mayfair Mall – while, police say, he was himself holding a stash of illegal narcotics with a handwritten ledger of recent sales. Vaughn Caruth Gilmer, 32, of Milwaukee was charged Tuesday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of possession of narcotic drugs and one count of felony bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to 4½ years in prison and $20,000 in fines. According to police reports and the criminal complaint: At 4:13 p.m. last Saturday, police were called to the area of …

From humble beginnings, chain has gained a cachet for its overall quality and selection – yet sizing and fitting of its shoes remains a hallmark that has endeared it most of all.
When the developers of the coming Mayfair Collection in the Burleigh Triangle first hinted more than a year and a half ago that a Nordstrom Rack store would be a likely tenant, and more recently confirmed it, there was subdued excitement. "Nice to have the Nordstrom name here, finally," was the prevailing sentiment – "but wish it were a full-line Nordstrom store." After Thursday's announcement that Wauwatosa will, indeed, have its wish, a three-level Nordstrom department store at Mayfair Mall come late 2015, the enthusiasm of shoppers is nigh onto unbridled. "Very cool!" crowed Kim Wolff-Green on Wauwatosa Patch's Facebook page. Caley Clinton: "So. Excited." Beth Jaworski: "This is so fabulous! Woo hoo!" And from Carol Knuth: "Very …

Seattle-based Nordstrom on Thursday announced plans to open its first full-line store in Wisconsin at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa, the largest mixed-use shopping center in Wisconsin. The company plans to open an approximately 140,000-square-foot, three-level store by fall 2015. Nordstrom will join Macy's, Boston Store, Crate & Barrel, the Apple Store and other major names at Mayfair. The store will be a new structure attached to the mall along the southeast side, between Boston Store and the office center, said Mayfair general manager Steve Smith. "There is now an entrance there, which will be changed and widened inside the mall to accommodate Nordstrom," Smith said. "And, we'll be adding a parking structure roughly between it and Boston …
