Police Reports: Dad Charged with Violating Restraining Order at School

Man has repeatedly ignored orders to stay away from ex-wife and children and now is accused of showing up at Roosevelt Elementary at end of classes.

At 3:21 p.m. Friday, a 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested at Roosevelt Elementary School for violation of a restraining order barring him from having contact with his ex-wife or their children. Gilberto Martinez Garza was charged Monday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Martinez Garza claimed he just wanted to check in with his children’s teachers and the principal about their progress in school, but he admitted he arrived when school would let out, a time when he would have expected his ex-wife come to pick up the kids. He had been convicted twice in 2012 of violating the same injunction. In other recent incidents: Saturday At 7:06 p.m., a 17-year-old Wauwatosa boy was arrested for disorderly conduct at Wauwatosa West High School …
