Cold, windy weather didn't keep shoppers from flocking to mall for big bargains.
When Mayfair Mall opened at midnight Friday, many retailers had long lines, but the crowd overall was orderly. Although many teenagers attempted to gain entry to the mall, security personnel strictly enforced the rules prohibiting unaccompanied minors during certain times of day.

Share your stories of gratitude with us, and read about the things warming others' hearts this season.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. We usually spend it with my family—which has grown from the five it was when I was little to 12 with spouses and babies. It's a homey holiday, one filled with good food, and laughter. With the stuffing my mother always makes that I never want to eat. With people poking fun at my distaste for mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. With cranberry sauce, and beans with bacon. With bounty. There is much to be thankful for in our lives. Despite disagreements, the foundation of love upon which our relationships are built is a gift that has been passed down for generations. My grandparents started it, with neverending generosity and abundant love. They helped others, even when they couldn't afford to. My …

In his weekly radio address, governor thanks Wisconsin's volunteers, especially those who helped out victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Here is a transcript of Gov. Scott Walker's weekly radio address, which aired on Wednesday. Hi, this is Scott Walker. This year, Tonette and I are glad to have our oldest son, Matt, home to join with our other son, Alex, and our parents as we enjoy the blessings of our family on Thanksgiving Day. We are so very thankful for our family and friends. It is also a time to again say thank you to the many people in our state who volunteer to help others in our schools, at senior and community centers, in places of worship and so many other locations across Wisconsin. And a special thanks to those who went east to help recover from Hurricane Sandy. Finally, we say thank you to all of our men and women who proudly serve in the military. To them, …

More challenging could be the expected heavy traffic on Sunday, when the gun deer season also wraps up and hunters are on their way home. Highways should be slightly more congested this…
