Wired: Driver Who Nearly Hit Tosa Officer Was Drugged, DA Says
A guy wire supporting a power pole was the only thing between a Tosa patrol officer and a careening pickup truck driven by an opiate-addled woman, criminal complaint says. The wire stopped her and saved him.
A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of driving after taking drugs, then nearly running over a Wauwatosa police officer, who was saved by a guy wire for a utility pole. Jessica Dawn Domenget was charged Friday in Milwaukee County Circuit Court with one count of second offense operating while intoxicated and one count of second-degree reckless endangerment. If convicted, she faces up to 5½ years in prison and $26,100 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Aug. 22, a Wauwatosa police officer parked his car on the northbound side of the 800 block of North 70th Street, then got out so he could get something that had fallen on the passenger side floorboard of the car.
