School Starts Sept. 3, But Note Important August Dates
The first day of classes may not be strictly the first day of the school year: All Wauwatosa schools have a variety of registration, orientation and just-plain-fun dates scheduled.
The first day of school for Wauwatosa Public Schools is Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day.
But every school in the district has some important dates this month for parents to take note of.
Each school has its own plan, on its own calendar, for collection of registration forms and fees, etc. – and some schools also have “meet and greet the teacher” times, photo sessions, and in a few cases fun get-togethers including two back-to-school picnics, an ice cream social and a popsicle social.

Registration and school photo sessions will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, from noon until 6 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Registration and photo sessions will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, from noon until 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Orientation for students and parents new to the district will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
A Grade 6 Open House will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5:50 until 7:30 p.m.
A Grades 7 and 8 Open House will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.
Registration sessions will be held Aug. 26 from noon until 6 p.m. and Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Information packets should arrive by mail next week.
Forms and fees sessions will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 4 until 7 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Eisenhower will hold a Meet the Teacher session, Thursday, Aug. 29, 3 until 4 p.m.
A Meet the Teacher session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 3 until 3:45 p.m., with a Back to School Picnic to follow at 4 p.m.
A New Family Orientation session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 2 until 3 p.m., with a Meet the Teacher session to follow from 3 until 3:45 p.m.
Forms, fees and photos day will be Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
A Madison Social will be held Wednesday, Aug. 29, 4:30 until 6:30 p.m.
Fees, forms and picture day will be Tuesday, Aug. 27, from noon until 6 p.m.
A Meet the Teacher session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29 from 5:45 until 6:30, with a popsicle social to follow from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m.
Forms, fees and photo day will be Monday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
A Roosevelt New Families event will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9 until 11 a.m.
A Roosevelt Meet the Teacher photo session will be held, Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5 until 6:30 p.m.
An Underwood New Family and Junior Kindergarten orientation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 5:30 p.m.
Forms, fees and picture days are Thursday, Aug. 22, from 4 until 7 p.m., and Friday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. until noon.
A Meet and Greet, forms, fees and treat session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Washington parents please note: This is changed from Aug. 28 as previously scheduled.
Forms and fees days will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 1 until 5 p.m.
A “New Wilson Family” orientation session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 2 until 3 p.m., with a Meet and Greet session from 2 until 3:45 p.m.
Forms and fees session will be Thursday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. until noon and from 4 until 6 p.m.
A Wauwatosa Montessori Welcome Back Picnic will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 3:30 until 5 p.m.
Forms and fees days will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 1 until 5 p.m
A WSTEM Ice Cream Social will be held Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
A New WSTEM Family orientation will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, from 2 until 3 p.m., concurrent with a WSTEM Meet and Greet from 2 until 3:45 p.m.
